Holy Week

Palm Sunday. Maundy Thursday. Good Friday. Easter!

Holy Week

A journey to Jerusalem. Shouts of "Hosanna!" A last supper. Passover, reinterpreted. A betrayal. An arrest. A cross. Suffering and death. A resurrection. A new creation! Salvation.

Experience what God has done for you.

Sunday, March 24, 10am

Since the time Israel entered the Promised Land, they celebrated God’s deliverance and victory on Palm Sunday. Pilgrims walked hundreds of miles to celebrate in Jerusalem. It was a party, a religious experience, a physical journey with a spiritual goal.

Take a pilgrimage this Palm Sunday. Walk to FOF. Yes, walk. Rain, snow, or shine. Post your starting location below or at the FOF Connect Center. Connect with others near you in a pilgrim party. Wear FOF clothes and colors.

9am Discipleship Hour won't meet at FOF. Rock Children's Ministry and Boulder Student Ministry are walking together. Contact Gwen Johnson for starting time and location.

In-person and livestream at 10am.

Pilgrimage Map

See where people are walking from. People walk from all over the McHenry county area. Look to see if there are any pins near you and you might find a group of people to walk with!

Add your pin to the map by filling out this brief form.

Pilgrim Guide

Why do we walk on Palm Sunday? It’s not about walking for the sake of walking. It’s about tapping what Jesus experienced as he walked to Jerusalem.

Use the guide below to make the most of your walk. If you’re traveling solo, read, pray, and reflect to yourself. If traveling as a group, select someone in your party to lead each section.

Thursday, March 28, 6pm

On the night he was betrayed, Jesus met in an upper room of a house with his disciples to share the Passover meal and prepare them for the battle to come.

This Maundy Thursday commune like Jesus did with a worship experience mirroring Jesus’ last supper. To experience the service fully, invite some friends and fast for the day.

In-person only at 6pm.

Friday, March 29, 7pm

A service in darkness and shadow, retelling the story of Christ’s crucifixion. Relive the night Jesus gave his life for you.

In-person and livestream at 7pm. Rock Kids for 0-5.

Sunday, March 31, 6am

Very early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to Jesus’ tomb. When they arrived, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.

Experience that first Easter morning! An outdoor sunrise service celebrating Jesus’ resurrection. Bring a blanket or chair and dress for the weather. Rain, snow, or shine.

Sunday, March 31, 10am @ The Vixen

FOF is having one big service at The Vixen in McHenry!

(1208 N Green St. McHenry)

Christ is risen! Victory is here! A new age has dawned! The Kingdom of God has come! "Wake up, O sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you." Celebrate the event that stands at the heart of it all.

No childcare available. Bring kids of all ages to the celebration. The mezzanine is set up great for younger kids.

Parking available on the street and in the lot across Green St from The Vixen.

In-person only. Doors open at 9am. Service at 10am.
