Have Kids?

Kids matter to God. And our goal with NextGen ministries is to help kids and youth encounter God just as they are.

The Rock is our ministry for children from infants - 5th grade. At The Rock, we help your kids meet Jesus as kids. Each week we create an environment that uncovers how great God is, and how your child can follow him.

Boulder is our student ministry for youth in 6 - 12th grades. The goal of Boulder is to help the youth become disciples of Jesus and find their place with God in the world today.

Where are you located?

We are located at 6120 Mason Hill Rd. in McHenry, IL.

What time is service?

Sunday worship services are at 8:30 and 10:30am. Both services are identical in content and style, with children's ministry for 0-5 available at both. We also have children's ministry for infants-5th grade, student ministry for 6-12th grade, and an adult Bible class from 9:45 - 10:15am. (Doors open at 9:30am for children's and student ministry.)

Where should I go when I arrive?

Stop by the Connect Center, which is right in front of you as you enter the building. Here you can meet one of our hosts who can direct you where to go and answer any questions that you have.

If you would like to visit us but aren't ready to connect with people, we totally get that! There is no pressure to fill out our "plan your visit" form or stop by the Connect Center. Whatever makes your experience the best and you most comfortable! Come in, grab some coffee, find a seat, and enjoy the service!

Is there something for my kids?

The Rock Children's Ministry offers childcare during both worship services for kids, 0-5.

The Rock also meets between services for all kids, infants through 5th grade. Doors open at 9:30am. Programming runs 9:45-10:15. Come to the back of the coffeehouse (look for the big Rock Kids sign). We love it when kids worship with adults, so bring them to worship with you at 8:30 or 10:30am.

Boulder Student Ministry for 6th-12th graders also meets from 9:45-10:15am. Look for the Boulder banner by the fireplace when you enter the coffeehouse. We're just a quick walk down the hall.

If you need help finding anything, our hosts would be glad to direct you! Find anyone with a lanyard and nametag and they can get you where you need to go.

What does a typical service look like?

Our worship style is modern, contemporary, and family-friendly. We have a worship band and utilize various forms of multimedia from projection, lighting, and videos to enhance our time of worship. There is a message from our pastor in every service, time for prayer, and we typically have communion every other week.

Dress how you'd like, whether that's casual clothes, comfy sweatpants, or your Sunday best. All are welcome here!

How do I get connected?

Our hosts at the Connect Center would be happy to direct you to various ministry areas or leaders. Dave, our senior pastor, is usually floating around the Connect Center after services. He's also available to meet you and answer any questions.

How do I join a small group?

Groups are open to anyone, anytime. Find a group you like and try it out. Check out our Groups page to learn more about the different groups that are available.

How can I get involved in serving?

Visit our Serve page and take a short survey that will help you align your interests with multiple ministry areas. Once you do, a ministry leader will reach out to you to help you find what option is right for you.
