WHY DO WE CARE?

We care because Jesus cares. Throughout the Bible God is described as one close to the suffering and broken-hearted. Jesus's heart is constantly for the hurting. Encouraging each other through hard and messy times is a part of what church is about.

CARE TEAM

At FOF, we have a group of people who bring help and encouragement to others in tangible ways. Whether it's those pick-me-up calls and texts, personal visits, meals for new moms, or hand-written cards when a loved one dies, the Care Team brings encouragement to people during times of need. As the New Testament says, “Encourage one another and build each other up."

CELEBRATE RECOVERY

Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered recovery program seeking Jesus's help in healing from our broken, sinful lives. Learn principles based on Biblical insights for discovering freedom from guilt, grief, shame, anger, resentment, fears, co-dependency, addictive beviors, and more. 

 

Mondays: Worship & Teaching at 7pm. Group Share at 8pm.

HEALTH & WELLNESS

God is in the restoration business. Health & Wellness focuses on education, training, and care ministries that promote personal health and flourishing with things like blood pressure and health screenings, various health initiatives and training events, and care for caregivers.

Meet monthly to share caregiver experiences and gain support from one another. Register on our groups page here.

 

Blood Pressure Readings

Visit our table on the first Sunday of the month for a quick blood pressure check. We provide referals as necessary.

MARIANN HISEL

Parish Nurse, Ed.D., MSN, MBA, RNC-OB, RNC-EFM, Faith Community Nurse

Mariann is a registered nurse with a doctorate in organizational development and leadership who has over 38 years of experience as an Advance Nurse Clinician and Clincal Educator. She is actively involved with developing training and programs for McHenry County Medical Reserve Corp and the Volunteer Auxilliary at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital. She and her husband, Ron, have traveled the world on motorcycles, including every US state except Hawaii.
