The Lord's Prayer has been turned into magic words by many people – something rote and cliché to simply be repeated. For others it has been forgotten. But for many it remains an untapped template of how God guides our conversation with him. It is the charter for followers of Jesus.

This fall we'll discover how to pray the way Jesus taught his disciples, what this prayer teaches us about the heart of God, and how he wants to be approached.

This school year we journey through the Psalms, laments, and prayers of the Bible. This September tackles the purpose, power, misconceptions about prayer... and about God, reorienting us to call on the name of the Lord.

So many people hate Paul. They fixate on a few controversial passages and pit him against Jesus. Paul is misunderstood. Other than a few favorite verses, most people don’t really know what he’s writing about. They find him needlessly confusing, and struggle to follow his trains of thought.

This series addresses misconceptions about Paul and seeks to awaken us as to why Paul matters, and why we should like him. Paul gives us the “why” of the Gospels’ “what.” We lay the basic groundwork for what drives him. What he writes and what he does is rooted in following Jesus. No one knows Jesus better!

How are we to understand the creation account in Genesis 1-2? Does it square with evolution? Are they mutually exclusive? Or is there an alternative
way?

Dr. John Walton from Wheaton College and Dr. Richard Averbeck from Trinity come to discuss and debate the best way to interpret Genesis 1-2.  Dr. Walton emphasizes interpretation in light of its Ancient Near East culture  while Dr. Averbeck shows how Genesis is interpreted by the rest of the Bible.

Many people think of the Old Testament as an obsolete book filled with rules that don’t apply anymore. But it was Jesus’ Bible. And it wasn’t old to him. For Jesus and his first followers, the OT was living and active and alive and relevant. As it is meant to be for us today.

This September we begin a 40-week journey through the Old Testament. God has a story, and he invites us to make it our story. Discover the OT as a living, breathing message of God with power to transform our lives

Week 1  |  Week 2  |  Week 3  |  Week 4

"The Bible is not a book for the faint of heart. It is a book full of all the greed and glory and violence and tenderness and sex and betrayal that benefits mankind. It is not the collection of pretty little anecdotes mouthed by pious little church mice. It does not so much nibble at our shoe as it cuts to the heart and splits the marrow from bone to bone. It does not give us answers fitted to our smaller minded questions but truth that goes beyond what we even know to ask." (Rich Mullins)

Discover what it means to embrace this incredible message as the heartbeat of your life and worldview.

God has a story. He invites us to make His story our story.

That story is the Bible. It's how God comes to us... speaks to us... transforms us.

True spirituality and a growing relationship with God comes through the Holy Spirit who works in you through the Word of God, not the effect or feeling of a spiritual activity or church.  It doesn't matter how good you feel on Sunday or how inspired you get by spiritual things. Without interfacing the Word of God it's worthless.

This August delve into the New Testament.  Meet the transforming power of God’s story for you!
